Equisse two

Understanding Form

Using only the 10 mm x-board craft provided (no glue or fixings) construct and document the following:

  • A five (5) sided pyramid 100 x 100 x 100mm
  • Calculate the correct geometry to ensure it remains within these dimensions. (use trigonometry or real world modelling)
  • Consider the flat pattern of the pyramid and angles to cut.

First step was to measure the sides of the triangular side, which is:

First try, trying the locking system, and it worked well, but i made mistake so it didn't lock the whole pyramid.

The outcome from the first try.

Second try! trying to be more careful about the joining system.

Unfolded final cut.

Detail on locking system.

Final pyramid!

Equisse one

Understanding Material

Using only the 10 mm x-board craft provided (no glue or fixings) construct :
· An open ended cube 100 x 100 x 100mm
· Each corner to use a different folding technique
· A locking method to hold the cube closed

started with a plain rectangular x-board

tried different folding techique

first x-board! with rectangular locking system, but it didn't work well..
so i tried a new one..

second x-board with another locking system, and it works better..! :)

final box!
