Branding

This stool will be placed around the rest area of the events.
It can be easily moved by the visitors to their desired place to sit.
The stool is comfortable for short rest, having discussion with employers, and also, you can use it as a low table!

Branding Research

As the next event for Salone Satellite will be held during Spring 2010 in Milan, I tried to browse through google about Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010.
And here are some inspiring images from my research..

Looking at how they use geometric lines, i inspired to use geometric lines for my branding, which i think will be very relevant to my stool design itself, where i've made a geometric form in my stool deign.

Final Product!!!

Doing the Final Chair....
First,, i was really scared that i will make some mistakes....!
Was trying my best to finish the template, to put it into laser cut..
Here is the template that i made for my final chair!
Created 2 different layers on CAD, to indicate one for cutting, and the other one is for scoring..
After waiting for 1 day for the laser cut, i finally started to cut, and do the v cuts on the template..
Here is the progress..

Above are the 2 parts which are done with the laser cut..

Finished the v-cuts on the first part!

Detail of the v-cut on the 1st part..

Finished with the cuts on the 2nd part..

Detail on the puzzle locking system to hold the 2nd part together.

Detail on the fold at both side of the chair..

After finish with the v-cuts...
I started to do the assembling!

Here's a video of how to assemble the chair...!!

The final product!

Tried to sit on it! It was comfortable, light weight, easy to carry, and STRONG!
I'm so happy with my final chair...:)
It looks more tidy than the previous one..

Design Development - 1:1 Mock Up with Xanita

Design Development - 1:1 Mock Up Process with Xanita

First trial with Xanita Board..

The template with dimensions

Draw the template on Xanita..

Start cutting the Xanita..

Template part 1

Template part 2

After the V-cut

Assemble the first part..

Prepare the second part..

Put the second part on top of the first one, then push it down..

After putting the 2 parts together..

Lock the bottom part..

Bottom View

And here is the final product!

Parts that need refinements..

Small gap between the two pieces..

Another gap..

Cutting too deep..

I thing the chair is quite successful though.. The chair is strong, and the template almost work perfectly...
Needs to be more careful with the V-cut... And maybe should use laser cut for the final one, to make achieve the exact dimensions..

Design Development - Scale Model Refinement

Was trying to refine the last 1:1 model..
Create locking on the rectangular support, and close the sides...
The 1:5 model didn't work really well, it should work on xanita though.. I think i need to try to make 1:1 with xanita.. hmm -.-'
